The least enjoyable part of our vacation: the long flights. This is the one between Chicago and Amsterdam, shortly after our first flight between San Diego and Chicago. Positive aspects of both: they were smooth and on time. Can we ask for more...?
Sint Nicolaasstraat, where our Airbnb in Amsterdam is located. Great area overall.
Banksy's Arrowhead (2009) with a different style but his same irreverence, new to me at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Amsterdam.

Dream by Icy and Sot (2018)
American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat (b. 1960) and his girlfriend Suzanne Mallouk. One example of the so-called Figure Portfolio consisting of five paintings from 1982, full of symbolisms only the artist can decipher
Warhol's talent remembered in Amsterdam and worldwide

The Dam Square monument, from 1956, remembering the casualties of World War II
Bold architecture seen from the back of the Central Station, across the IJ River: On the left, the EYE Filmmuseum, with the A'dam Tower next to it
Cliché, but the light was good, so I couldn't help it.
Best signage on Earth at the Schiphol airport: easy to read and tastefully done
Now in Zurich, the popular Christmas market at the Hauptbahnhof (HB), central train station, with an eclectic selection of gifts and food from around the world. The free Lindt chocolate adds to the attraction...
He arrived first with his guitar and his heavy bag; she arrived later with a big smile. This is when love is visible, and Zurich is the right place for the encounter of what may be a long life together, or at least a long-lasting memory
Swiss railroad personnel, reflected on a dividing glass window at the Zurich HB
Mass in German on a Tuesday at Peter and Paul's church in Zurich. Mass is offered in different languages at different times of the week.
Dali's La Torre, unexpected at Zurich's Kunsthaus. A 1936 painting needing a cleanup...
The most interesting sculpture at the Kunsthaus: Untitled by Yves Netzhammer (1970)
The prolific Giacometti we see around the world is also ubiquitous at the Kunsthaus, with a few of his sculptures on display. This one is Femme Grande II from 1960
Self-portrait of young Picasso. Yo, Picasso from 1901, when he was just twenty years old
Picasso's Grand Nu, 1964

Back in Amsterdam for two days, practicing some street photography in the dark and wet morning of November 28
It's cold, open the door!
Brothers headed to school, if I have to guess. The drizzle didn't bother them on a Friday...
On Damrak at the tram stop near De Bijenkorf. The red umbrella was an unexpected bonus....
Perhaps Amsterdam's most recognizable intersection, on Damrak, right in front of Dam Square. The wet and cold morning wasn't inviting to stay outside, but it helped a picture with a variety of lights and reflections
The guy didn't care about damaging the literature holder or the literature itself...
Our return flight between Amsterdam and Houston, to be followed by a second flight between Houston and San Diego.
